Reports concluded for 2015/2016 Heating Season.  Reports to continue in October 2016 for the 2016/2017 heating season.

 

Late-March 2016 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (03/30/16 EIA update): Residential propane prices decreased last week by nearly a penny per gallon to average almost $2.01 per gallon, 28 cents per gallon lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged 51 cents per gallon, 2 cents per gallon lower than last week and nearly 13 cents per gallon lower than the price last year.

Late-March 2016 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (03/23/16 EIA update): Residential propane prices decreased last week by nearly a penny per gallon to average $2.01 per gallon, 31 cents per gallon lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged 53 cents per gallon, 2 cents per gallon lower than last week and nearly 10 cents per gallon lower than the price last year.

Mid-March 2016 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (03/16/16 EIA update): Residential propane prices were virtually unchanged from last week and averaged $2.02 per gallon, 32 cents per gallon lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged 56 cents per gallon, 3 cents per gallon higher than last week and 13 cents per gallon lower than the price last year.

Early March 2016 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (03/09/16 EIA update): Residential propane prices averaged $2.02 per gallon, less than 1 cent per gallon lower than last week and almost 34 cents per gallon lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged just under 53 cents per gallon, nearly 2 cents per gallon higher than last week and almost 24 cents per gallon lower than the price last year.

Early March 2016 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (03/02/16 EIA update): Residential propane prices averaged nearly $2.03 per gallon, less than 1 cent per gallon lower than last week and 34 cents per gallon lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged 51 cents per gallon, 4 cents per gallon higher than last week and 27 cents per gallon lower than the price last year.

Late February 2016 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (02/24/16 EIA update): Residential propane prices averaged $2.03 per gallon, almost 1 cent per gallon lower than last week and nearly 33 cents per gallon lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged 47 cents per gallon, unchanged from last week and 28 cents per gallon lower than the price last year.

Mid-February 2016 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (02/18/16 EIA update): Residential propane prices were virtually unchanged from last week, averaging $2.03 per gallon, 32 cents per gallon lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged 47 cents per gallon, also essentially unchanged from last week and 25 cents per gallon lower than the price last year.

Early February 2016 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (02/10/16 EIA update): Residential propane prices averaged $2.03 per gallon, 1 cent per gallon higher than last week’s price and 33 cents per gallon lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged 47 cents per gallon, 1 cent per gallon higher than last week and 20 cents per gallon lower than last year.

Early February 2016 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (02/03/16 EIA update): Residential propane prices averaged $2.02 per gallon, less than a penny per gallon higher than last week’s price and almost 35 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged 46 cents per gallon, just over 2 cents per gallon higher than last week and almost 15 cents per gallon lower than last year.

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (01/27/16 EIA update): Residential propane prices averaged $2.02 per gallon, less than 1 cent per gallon higher than last week’s price and 35 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged 44 cents per gallon, 3 cents per gallon higher than last week and 19 cents lower than last year’s price for the same week.

Late January 2016 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (01/21/16 EIA update): Residential propane prices averaged almost $2.02 per gallon, less than 1 cent per gallon higher than last week’s price and nearly 37 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged 41 cents per gallon, nearly 3 cents per gallon lower than last week and 21 cents lower than last year’s price for the same week

Mid-January 2016 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (01/13/16 EIA update): Residential propane prices averaged $2.01 per gallon, 1 cent per gallon higher than last week’s price and nearly 34 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged just over 43 cents per gallon, 2 cents per gallon lower than last week and nearly 14 cents lower than last year’s price for the same week.

Early January 2016 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (01/06/16 EIA update): Residential propane prices averaged $2.00 per gallon, almost 1 cent per gallon more than last week’s price and nearly 36 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged nearly 48 cents per gallon, almost 3 cents per gallon higher than last week and 11 cents lower than last year’s price for the same week.

Late December 2015 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (12/30/15 EIA update): Residential propane prices averaged $1.99 per gallon, less than 1 cent per gallon more than last week’s price and nearly 38 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged nearly 45 cents per gallon, almost 3 cents per gallon higher than last week and 18 cents lower than last year’s price for the same week.

Wholesale propane prices averaged 42 cents per gallon, almost 4 cents per gallon lower than last week and 25 cents lower than last year’s price for the same week.

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (12/09/15 EIA update): Residential propane prices averaged just under $1.97 per gallon, almost 1 cent per gallon higher than last week’s price and nearly 42 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale propane prices averaged just shy of 50 cents per gallon, almost 1 cent per gallon lower than last week and nearly 25 cents lower than last year’s price for the same week.

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (12/02/15 EIA update): Residential prices averaged just under $1.96 per gallon, almost 1 cent per gallon higher than last week’s price and 45 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale prices averaged slightly over 50 cents per gallon, more than 1 cent per gallon higher than last week and 43 cents lower than last year’s price for the same week.

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (11/25/15 EIA update): Residential prices averaged just under $1.96 per gallon, almost 2 cents per gallon higher than last week’s price but almost 45 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale prices averaged 49 cents per gallon, unchanged from last week and 44 cents lower than last year’s price for the same week.

Mid November 2015 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (11/18/15 EIA update): Residential prices averaged slightly under $1.94 per gallon, 2 cents per gallon higher than last week’s price and almost 47 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale prices averaged 49 cents per gallon, just shy of 4 cents per gallon lower than last week’s price and 51 cents lower than last year’s price for the same week.

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (11/12/15 EIA update): Residential prices averaged just under $1.92 per gallon, less than 1 cent per gallon lower than last week’s price and 49 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale prices averaged nearly 53 cents per gallon, 1 cent per gallon lower than last week’s price and 49 cents lower than last year’s price.

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (11/04/15 EIA update): Residential prices averaged $1.92 per gallon, more than 1 cent per gallon higher than last week’s price but almost 48 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale prices averaged 54 cents per gallon, almost 2 cents per gallon higher than last week’s price but 53 cents lower than last year’s price.

Late October 2015 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (10/28/15 EIA update): Residential prices averaged nearly $1.91 per gallon, more than 1 cent per gallon higher than last week’s price and almost 51 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale prices averaged 52 cents per gallon, 2 cents per gallon lower than last week’s price and 51 cents lower than the price on October 27, 2014.

Late October 2015 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (10/21/15 EIA update): Residential prices averaged $1.90 per gallon, less than 1 cent per gallon higher than last week’s price and 49 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale prices averaged 54 cents per gallon, 4 cents per gallon lower than last week’s price and 53 cents lower than the price on October 20, 2014.

Mid October 2015 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Propane Prices (10/15/15 EIA update): Residential prices averaged $1.91 per gallon, slightly lower than last week’s price and 46 cents lower than one year ago. Wholesale prices averaged nearly 59 cents per gallon, almost 3 cents per gallon higher than last week’s price and 53 cents lower than the price on October 13, 2014.  (Please note that this text summary report has a slight inconsistency that the owners of ‘www.propane-prices.com’ detected based on EIA data sets reported between October 7, 2015 and October 15, 2015.  The difference impacts both retail and wholesale values between these two dates.  We were unable to detect the reason for the inconsistency.  The inconsistency may simply be based on a typing errror).

Early October 2015 Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (10/07/15 EIA update): Residential prices entered the 2015-2016 heating season at an average of about $1.94 per gallon, nearly 44 cents per gallon lower than at the start of last winter’s heating season. Wholesale prices averaged nearly 59 cents per gallon, almost 54 cents per gallon lower than the first collection week in October last year.

Late March 2015 Propane Prices Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (04/01/15 EIA update):    Residential prices averaged $2.29 per gallon, 3 cents per gallon lower than last week. The average wholesale price increased by nearly 1 cent per gallon this week to just under 64 cents per gallon.

Mid Mar 2015 Propane Prices Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (03/25/15 EIA update):   Residential prices averaged $2.32 per gallon, 2 cents per gallon lower than last week. The average wholesale price decreased by nearly 6 cents per gallon this week to 63 cents per gallon.

Mid Mar 2015 Propane Prices Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (03/18/15 EIA update):    Residential prices averaged $2.34 per gallon, nearly 2 cents per gallon lower than last week, and almost 74 cents per gallon less than the price at the same time last year. The average wholesale price decreased by more than 7 cents per gallon this week to just under 69 cents per gallon, nearly 69 cents per gallon lower than the March 17, 2014 price.

Mid Mar 2015 Propane Prices Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (03/11/15 EIA update):     Residential prices averaged just below $2.36 per gallon, 1 cent per gallon lower than last week, and nearly 81 cents per gallon less than the price at the same time last year. The average wholesale price decreased by 2 cents per gallon this week to 76 cents per gallon, nearly 67 cents per gallon lower than the March 10, 2014 price.

Late Feb 2015 Propane Prices Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (02/25/15 EIA update):
Residential prices averaged $2.35 per gallon, less than 1 cent per gallon lower than last week, and $1.12 per gallon less than the price at the same time last year. The average wholesale price increased by almost 3 cents per gallon this week to 75 cents per gallon, $1.09 per gallon lower than the February 24, 2014 price.

Mid Feb 2015 Propane Prices Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (02/19/15 EIA update):
Residential prices averaged nearly $2.36 per gallon, less than 1 cent per gallon lower than last week, and $1.28 per gallon less than the price at the same time last year.  The average wholesale price increased by more than 5 cents per gallon this week to 72 cents per gallon, almost $1.46 per gallon lower than the February 17, 2014 price.

Early Feb 2015 Propane Prices Summary

Weekly Summary of Residential Prices (02/11/15 EIA update):
Residential prices averaged $2.36 per gallon, about 1 cent per gallon lower than last week, and $1.40 per gallon less than the price at the same time last year. The average wholesale price increased by almost 6 cents per gallon this week to just under 67 cents per gallon, $1.94 per gallon lower than the February 10, 2014 price.
